Our Senior Data Analyst will work in a collaborative environment working with various project teams to support client analytics and visualization. The senior will perform detailed data quality analysis, identifying data anomalies and issues requiring data correction while providing various areas of data governance to ensure accuracy. Additional responsibilities may include:


  • Providing advice, assistance, and written recommendations based on data analysis and results to inform client decisions
  • Accurate and timely delivery of reports and data requests
  • Developing a broad understanding of data sets available; Assisting with the development implementation, and maintenance of good and accurate data flowing from User inputs to data storage
  • Developing and maintaining quality control standard and data reconciliation techniques for internal and external reporting.
  • Conducting quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data
  • Understanding current state processes and recommend improvements to make programs and processes more efficient and effective
  • Understanding client needs and pain points to recommend requirements in DHS data systems
  • Promoting compliance with agreed data governance principles, and where necessary, takes action to respond to improper activities in relation to secondary use of data
  • Analyzing data from relational databases and understand data structures
  • Ability to explain and document complex methodologies in plain language
  • Establish, coordinate, and manage Integrated Project Team (IPT)


Skills and attributes for success


  • Clearly communicating findings, recommendations, and opportunities to improve data systems and solutions
  • An in-depth knowledge of data analysis and its core principles
  • Strong knowledge in implementing best practices specifically for data management
  • Applying data mining and statistical analysis techniques like hypothesis testing, segmentation, and modelling to analyze large amounts of data
  • Helping our clients make data-driven decisions by working with structured and unstructured data sets, building out predictive models and advising our clients on data mining leading practices
  • Experience with data privacy, classification, and access tools such as Immuta, Azure IAM, Azure data catalog, or Gigya


To qualify for the role, you must have


  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5 years of related work experience in data analytics
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation
  • Well-organized with a track record of producing high-quality deliverables on time
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in SQL, Python, and/or R
  • Experience in Tableau and/or Power BI
  • Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain an US DoD secret level security clearance


Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Public Sector, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.


Ideally, you'll also have


  • Consulting experience or experience working on technical projects
  • MS in STEM degree
  • Understanding of ALE/TIE
  • Cybersecurity background and/or knowledge
  • Experience with identity related data

What we offer
We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,800 to $174,800. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $127,100 to $198,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You’ll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
