An exciting opportunity has opened up within Aviva for a Data Analyst to join our team! We are looking for someone with knowledge of SQL and experience of data visualisation. You will primarily be working with the claims department to develop reports that enable our Claims Team to make informed decisions.
Key to the role will be the production of data models and automation of data inputs that focus on financial performance and operational effectiveness. This roles suits somebody who is looking to develop technically while managing senior stakeholders’ and driving efficiencies. You will also work be working closely with IT to implement new technologies.
Aviva uses “smart-working”, and you can be based anywhere commutable to our offices in Galway or Dublin.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading the development and simplification of claims related dashboards/report.
  • Production of automated data flows to produce the underlying data behind our key reports. Working closely with IT to map the source data from our claims systems and share defined business requirements. Ensure Qlik Sense is the go-to tool and reduce/eliminate manual interventions.
  • Supporting and promoting the data agenda across Claims. Involves the adoption/analysis of evolving regulatory changes into reporting, claims related trends, and economic developments.
  • Working directly with Claims management and key report users to build relationships, gather requirements, and enhance developments to ensure output remains relevant and reliable.
  • Facilitate production of output to be utilised in claims and portfolio management meetings.
  • Demonstrate the ability to adapt to changing business requirements, identify operational inefficiencies, work independently, and show an understating of the requirements to deliver effective solutions.
  • Deliver effective solutions while keeping in mind our medium and long-term requirements. This includes the migration of existing Claims reports and facilitation of data science projects.
  • Engage with the business stakeholders and business partners, gather requirements, and present appropriate solutions.
  • Examine existing processes and work with the wider team to deliver innovative solutions and drive efficiencies across the business. Leading team and wider function hack days to develop output that meets the user’s needs.
Skills:
  • Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
  • Significant SQL skills to independently merge data sets for bespoke reports.
  • Robust commercial knowledge of Qlik/Tableau or similar BI platforms and developing data models.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • General Insurance claims knowledge is beneficial.
  • A passion for data!
