Your role and goals

We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist (m/f/d) to join our highly skilled and motivated Data Science team at Productsup.

Our team is currently working on state-of-the-art NLP and Machine Learning pipelines that differentiate Productsup from our competitors. You will have millions of product data specifications at your disposal, access to a strongly scalable inference and training infrastructure, and a team of highly talented data scientists and engineers.

In this role, you will help us in building multiple NLP and Machine Learning pipelines. You will become the sparring partner of our Lead Data Scientist and support the team in increasing the performance of our ML products.

In your first 3 months, you will:

• Build a deep understanding of our product, market, and the data infrastructure
• Partner closely with product, engineering, and other business leaders to influence decisions with data
• Strategically work on how data can be turned into products
• Propose improvements to our already existing NLP pipelines and integrate them into production
  
  

In your first 6 months and beyond you are:

• Helping us increase the global performance of our product, and models and starting to work on newer ones
• Proposing, building, and leading initiatives - feature ownership from development to deployment
• Laying down the foundations to release our services to other markets
• Working with Computer vision to read trademarks and logos on product packaging
• Participating in client meetings to provide better solutions
• Constantly exploring new technologies and techniques to take our product to the next level
• Initiating new projects involving text and image generation
  
  

What you bring to the team:

• An educational background in Data Science, AI, and/or Machine Learning
• 4+ years of experience working with Machine Learning / Data Science / Deep Learning
• Solid understanding of best practices in NLP
• High proficiency in Python and Data Science frameworks (Spacy, PyTorch, Pandas, Kedro, DVC, and Transformers)
• Business-oriented mindset with experience in Project Management and Agile Methodologies
• Experience working with Machine learning Ops
• Experience supporting and mentoring juniors on the team
• Strong communication skills, and the ability to communicate complex data problems and solutions with internal as well as external stakeholders
• Knowledge of Computer vision is a plus
