You will apply machine learning, statistical and artificial intelligence techniques to develop models, forecast trends and build intelligent systems, and make recommendations to improve business processes.

Primary duties include:

  • Explore, evaluate and implement emerging technologies in Machine Learning, GeoAI and Artificial Intelligence. Apply machine learning and data mining techniques to extract meaningful information from spatial data. Identify and use open-source machine learning engines and machine learning algorithms.
  • Create interfaces and mechanisms for the flow and access of information. Construct discriminative models with regression, classification or clustering.
  • Program pipelines that gather, clean, sort, label and ingest complex, high volume spatial and non-spatial data. Apply and evaluate statistical modeling.
  • Prototype, implement, test and productionize intelligent systems using Esri technologies. Comfortable using technologies under Windows or Linux environments. Experience with open-source libraries, Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) and programming languages like Python.
  • Conduct data profiling, spatial statistics, empirical evaluation and hypothesis testing to discover patterns and data characteristics, relationships and insights hidden in massive data for business recommendations.
  • Deploy high security platforms to isolate high-performance computing solutions away from data leaks and risks. Maintain and manage Cognitive Computing in-house server.
  • Monitor and patch updates of open-source software according to security standards governed by Corporate Security and Information Technology (IT).
  • Apply design thinking to data science projects; initiate, plan, execute, control and close projects to meet clients' needs within a specified scope, time, budget and quality level.
  • Promote data science best practices and technologies across the Corporation; coach other Data Scientists with domain specific projects and participate in projects that harvest analytics driven culture in The City.
