Data Scientist (6-month contract)
About The Role
The Data Scientist will work with quantitative scientists, domain experts, and product developers to ensure teams succeed in answering scientific questions using the client's platform. They will apply and develop analytical methods and predictive models that impact research and drug development programs, and collaborate on analytical pipelines that can be reused across the platform. They will also advocate for good data science practices and contribute to the design of the platform, making it accessible and useful for the data science and AI community.
Key Responsibilities
- Enable and support scientific teams to achieve their goals using the client's platform.
- Accelerate data science through the development of reusable pipelines for data preparation and analysis.
- Develop frameworks for generating and reporting key results, quality benchmarks for data, models, and impact in collaboration with data scientist users.
- Apply expertise in machine learning, deep learning, data visualization, and structured/unstructured data analytics to achieve scientific goals.
- Advocate for good data science practices.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector.
- Experience with bioinformatics (DNA/RNA/proteomics data analysis), statistical genetics, and/or biostatistics.
- Strong experience with R or Python for data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Experience using machine learning models to predict clinical endpoints using multimodal data.
- Experience with AI/GenAI/LLMs for automating or accelerating data science-related processes.
- Familiarity with principles and tools of good data science practices (e.g., Git/versioning).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Additional Skills
- Knowledge of CDISC data standards (SDTM, ADaM).
- Experience with pooling clinical trial data.
- Understanding of the drug discovery and development process.
- Experience in Immunology or Cardiology/Renal/Metabolic diseases.
- Experience with computational environments for large-scale data science (e.g., high-performance computing or Spark).
- Statistical and machine learning, and/or applied deep learning methods for time series data.
- Experience using the Foundry platform for data analysis.
