Junior Machine Learning Engineer Operations

Job description

You’re finished work for the day, you’ve pushed your code, and it’s been reviewed and merged, you need to pick up some groceries on the way home. You bike to your local Albert Heijn and you think to yourself with a smile that the forecasting model that you and your team just deployed is already running behind the scenes to make sure that your favorite products are fresh and available!

As you walk through the refrigerated aisles you pick up a bargain - some salad leaves that have been dynamically marked down to 70% off to make sure they sell before they expire and are wasted – again by a data science model running behind the scenes.

You walk past the bakery department and think about the optimization that is running to help the bakers bake the right number of croissants tomorrow morning.

Stepping out onto the street you think to yourself that it’s not just your local store – these models are running in more than a thousand stores across the Netherlands and Belgium. Furthermore, it’s not just the stores, the models your team builds are running in the supply chain and for online orders – ensuring efficient packing and delivery!

Does a job with such tangible impact at such scale motivate you? Do you want to use your skills to solve a wide set of practical and challenging problems? We're looking for talented curious young people to come and strengthen our Operations Analytics and Data Science team!
