Midlevel / Senior Data Engineer to Scandic Hotels Group

We are expanding our Data Platform team and looking for a Midlevel / Senior Data Engineer to help shape the future of data-driven decision making across our 280+ hotels and play a pivotal role in influencing key decisions across 6 countries.

As a Midlevel / Senior Data Engineer at our Stockholm office, you’ll play a crucial role in driving the evolution of our data platform. Your work will provide critical insights that help our hotels enhance both efficiency and guest experiences. You'll collaborate with passionate, innovative colleagues in a cross-functional, forward-thinking team. We use Snowflake and Power BI on Azure.
Bonus: We are in the process of implementing DBT to complement our Snowflake database, giving you the chance to work with some of the best tools in the business.
What you'll do:
- Design, develop, and optimize data pipelines that power Scandic's data platform.
- Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to transform data requirements into impactful solutions.
- Lead the innovation of our large-scale data platform, ensuring it runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Implement best practices for data management, including data quality, data governance, and data security.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of growth and continuous learning.

Skills & Requirements
What you bring:
- Around 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a related role. We don't really think number of years is relevant but it will give some kind of hint at least.
- Proficiency in data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- SQL skills and experience with cloud platforms.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an agile environment.
- Curiosity and a drive to create business value through data.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, or a similar field, will be meritorious.
- Fluency in English and Swedish.
