About the role:

As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a vital role in the Strategic Analytics team d esigning and developing analytical applications and solutions, data visualizations and advanced analytics to support OptumRx’s Industry Relations organization, as well as to support implementation of a new business unit.

We are looking for someone with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who can deal with analytical tasks to solve complex business problems. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL, Excel and Visualization tools knowledge, communication, and collaboration skills, be a self-starter, oriented on results, able to interact with people in various functions, ask right questions and get answers, understand the business needs and processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Setup new data and reporting processes
  • Find opportunities for automation and optimization
  • Analyze diverse and complex large-scale data
  • Implement analytic activities to support decision-making
  • Produce analytical outputs, executive summaries and analytics reports
  • Collaborate with different lines of business and business functions, to understand their analytic needs
  • Act as consultant to propose business solutions, and communicate results of analytics

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree Qualified (BA, BS) in relevant field (analytics, mathematics, economics, business, statistics, engineering or finance) or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Data Analytics and/or Data Engineering
    • Data manipulation and data modelling skills and very good knowledge of SQL and Excel
    • Data visualisation skills and good knowledge of Tableau SW or Power BI (or similar)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely in writing and orally to individuals and groups
  • Accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing forecast solutions and financial modelling tools
  • Experience working with workflow tools such as Alteryx
  • Prior Experience working as a business consultant or a business analyst
  • Experience with healthcare data
  • Good knowledge of at least one data modelling, scripting or statistical language such as R or Python
  • Experience working with Data in MS Azure Cloud
  • Masters and/or PhD in Analytics, Operational Research, Data Science or other relevant field of study
