Data Engineer

Join our team as a Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in our Data Modernization initiatives. You will be a core contributor in implementing modern data management concepts, architectures, and technologies for cross-organization use cases, with a focus on decentralizing data ownership and enabling efficient data sharing and utilization. Together, we will unlock the potential of our data by enabling accelerated innovation, value creation, and operational efficiency across GN.

Be hands-on in our Data Modernization program

We are looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Modernization program in GN. In this program, we develop and operate an emerging platform for data-ingestion, orchestration, and activation. The work is frontrunning and experimental where we work towards a smarter, more efficient, and democratized way of collecting, sharing, and activating data across the organization. You will join a task force of highly qualified colleagues and apply your skills in building, operating, and maintaining modern data platform services and Data Products.

As part of the Data Modernization program, you will:

• Design, build and maintain efficient and reliable data pipelines to move data across systems
• Be part of a core team building the platform and infrastructure for a Data Mesh setup
• Experiment around different Data Platforms and data technologies to serve our business needs
• Develop and maintain data architecture to support business requirements.
• Work with cloud technologies, specifically in Azure, to build and maintain data solutions
• Provide your recommendations and ideas on platform improvements.
• Collaborate with platform operations to ensure smooth and efficient data flow
• Collaborate with BI, Datawarehouse and other data teams at GN to identify and deliver on the modernization opportunities.
  
  

What is required:

• Proficiency in Python
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka
• Knowledge of database systems such as SQL, NoSQL, and data warehousing
• Knowledge of BI tools such as Power BI
• Understanding of data modeling and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
• Seasoned working with Azure cloud
• Ability to work with data pipelines and workflow management tools
• Strong understanding of data architecture and data governance principles, hereunder Data Mesh
• Knowledge of machine learning, data mining techniques and APIs
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong English language skills, and you feel confident working in a cross-cultural environment.
