In support of our continued growth, we are currently recruiting for a Data Engineer based in our Utrecht office.

The opportunity in Short

As a Data Engineer at ValueBlue, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing a modern data services architecture from scratch. You will be responsible for integrating data from multiple sources across Sales, Marketing, Account Management, and BlueDolphin's usage data. Your focus will be on delivering scalable data services that allow teams across ValueBlue to access the data they need to make informed business decisions.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement innovative data solutions, leveraging both traditional and emerging concepts such as data virtualization, data mesh, and enterprise knowledge graphs. By doing so, you'll enable better performance, security, and consistency across our data infrastructure.

Some Of The Responsibilities You'd Have

• Design and implement a scalable data services platform that integrates data from various sources, including our product BlueDolphin and third-party systems.
• Develop and manage integrations with data sources to deliver the required data services, utilizing the most appropriate solutions—whether through ETL processes or other methods.
• Ensure the overall performance of data services by optimizing query logic, network efficiency, and infrastructure as required.
• Oversee the data service infrastructure to ensure it meets evolving business requirements while maintaining high levels of data quality, consistency, and security.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to explore and implement emerging data concepts like data mesh, enterprise knowledge graphs, and data virtualization to improve data accessibility and scalability.
• Work with business analysts to develop flexible data models and automated reporting processes for real-time insights.
  
  

Job requirements

A strong candidate would fill most of the boxes below:

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Experience with integrating and managing data from various sources, including APIs, databases, and third-party systems.
• Interest in modern data architecture concepts such as data mesh, data services platforms, data virtualization, or enterprise knowledge graphs.
• Strong experience in delivering scalable data services, with a solid understanding of both traditional tools like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and emerging technologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud - our preferred cloud platform is Azure.
