Data Engineer needed - Charlotte, NC.
We have an opening with a great client of ours and we are looking for a Data Engineer to work in Charlotte, NC. You must be a US Citizen to apply. This is a 8+ month contract with possible extension.
Pay rate: $80 to $85/hr.
DATA ENGINEER
The successful candidate will be a part of the team that is responsible for Enterprise Data Warehouse. This position will help build and executed company's Modern Data Platform strategy, which includes building regional AWS-based Data to better support both regional and corporate needs for data and analytics. Work as part of a data engineering team building company's cloud-based data platform. The candidate develops deep knowledge and understanding of the data warehouse and data management assets available within our data platforms and act as the subject matter expert on the data and its utility for operational use. The candidate will build cloud infrastructure required for efficient data ingestion processes by pulling data from variety of data sources, apply best practices, transform data based on the business needs and optimize the data delivery for greater scalability. This candidate regularly interacts with the customers, data management teammates, and product development partners, your expertise in large volume data in data lakes, data warehouses, or data marts using structured, semi-structured, and unstructured formats - will deliver on our clients Data and Analytics organization's mission to enable data-driven decisions within any action. The candidate will follow established procedures, and contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects and keep up-to-date with the technology shifts through training and development.
Skills Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar
  • 15+ years of relevant experience in one of the following areas: Data engineering, database engineering, business intelligence or business analytics
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in writing complex, highly-optimized queries across large data sets
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience using AWS Glue, python/pyspark to build ETL pipelines in a production setting, including writing tests
  • Demonstrated strength in data modeling, ETL development, and Data warehousing. Data Warehousing
  • Demonstrated experience using ETL Glue and catalog
  • Expertise in AWS services includingS3, Redshift, EMR and RDS
  • Experience in working and delivering end-to-end projects independently
  • Expertise in CI/CD, logging /monitoring / metrics, AWS cloud technologies
  • Experience with security best practices in server configuration, tool development, and access controls
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Highly organized and able to coordinate with other team members
  • Virtual team collaboration tools such as WebEx and Zoom
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
