The role of a data engineer / data scientist at Clark is someone with the knowledge and skills to turn raw data into information and insight, which can be used to make business decisions. On a day-to-day basis, a data engineer will provide meaningful insights to Clark leaders and project teams by efficiently building data pipelines, data streams, data service APIs, data generators and then connecting these data pipelines effectively to generate required insights.The data engineer will be responsible for using innovative and modern tools, techniques and architectures to partially or completely automate the most-common, repeatable and tedious data preparation and ingestion tasks, build creative data models and algorithms in order to minimize manual and error-prone processes and create competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and support data systems – reorganizing data in a readable format from various enterprise applications and third-party sources
- Performing analysis to assess quality and meaning of data from various sources
- Enable users to remove corrupted data and fixing data errors and related problems
- Support other members of the data engineering & data science team in meaningful extraction and transformation of the data into actionable insights
- Develop and maintain analytics and reports: Identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
- Preparing reports for the management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data
- Working with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications
- Scrutinize data to recognize and identify patterns to summarize the overall features of data analysis.
Skills:
- Strong mathematical skills to help collect, measure, organize and analyze data
- Knowledge of programming languages like SQL, Python
- Proficiency in statistics and using Excel and SQL for data set analyzing
- Knowledge of data visualization software like Tableau, PowerBI
- Experience in handling reporting packages like Business Objects, programming (Javascript, XML, or ETL frameworks), databases
- Problem-solving skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Adept at queries, data analysis, writing reports, and making presentations
- Team-working skills
- Verbal and Written communication skills
