JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties: Architect, design, and develop data ingestion processes into AWS Platform. Evaluate new and current technologies using existing data architecture standards and frameworks. Provide technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors. Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide data frameworks, tools, and practices in the Software Development Life Cycle. Influence peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets. Innovate new ways of managing, transforming, and validating data. Establish and enforce guidelines to ensure consistency, quality, and completeness of data assets. Act as the coach and mentor to team members on their assigned project tasks. Develop a cohesive data engineering team and ensure their continued success. Conduct product work reviews with team members.

Qualifications

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered or as Data Engineer, Project Architect, IT Consultant, DataStage Developer, Software Engineer, or related occupation.

Skills Required: Requires experience in the following: Technology, Data and Domain consulting, and designing and implementing high quality business solutions with a focus on data warehousing, technical architecture, and data lake management; cloud enterprise implementations including Azure or AWS; SPARK; handling terabyte size datasets; Implementing complex ETL transformations on a big data platform such as NoSQL databases, Teradata, DB2, Hadoop, or Snowflake; Python; Event-Driven Architecture (EDA); Event Streaming Apache Kafka; ETL Tools including DataStage and Talend for Bigdata; Analyzing, design and conducting proof of concept, solutions, and core architectural changes; using an Agile programming approach.

Job Location: 8181 Communications Parkway, Plano, TX 75024. Telecommuting permitted up to 40% of the week.
