Senior Data Scientist

Cambridge - 3 days onsite

Are you experienced working with Microbial genomics and Metagenomic data? Do you develop Statistical and Machine learning methods?

This Cambridge based biotech have built a microbiome profiling platform, that supports drug discovery across a range of disease areas, including Oncology and IBD. You’ll join a well-established team tasked with developing precision microbiome medicines to improve patient outcomes.

In this role you will be responsible for analysing large scale biological data sets, from inhouse and publicly available. You will be developing and implementing novel statistical and machine learning methods, whilst also providing statistical support to all areas of the company, including input into study designs.

Ideally You Will Have

• Degree in relevant scientific discipline (Bioinformatics, Data Science etc)
• Plus post study work experience (ideally in industry)
• Experience in microbial genomics and metagenomics
• Strong experience with statistical analysis and machine learning methods
• Exposure to transcriptomics and metabolomics
• Excellent programming skills in Python/R
• Experience working with clinical data ideally
