As a data analyst in the Tools & Data team, you will work alongside data analysts from the Tools & Data team (part of Operations) as well as data scientists and data engineers from the Advanced Analytics team (part of IT). The objective is to empower the Operations department with data & reports to help them become more efficient and make informed decisions. Your mission will be to: (1) Work closely with the business to understand their needs, develop data analyses and automated reports to solve them (2) Contribute to IBA’s self-service analytics ambition for example by co-developing IBA’s governance and BI processes, providing BI trainings and user support
As a data analyst you will be the interface between business stakeholders and data engineers. You will capture needs related to operations, for example regarding Protontherapy sites operations, customer portal, logistics & manufacturing flows. You will understand the data and data structure required to deliver on these needs and translate them into development requirements with our data engineers. More importantly, you will bring your expertise in Power BI to create production-level reports and support other report creators in the organisation.

Core Responsibilities
As a Data Analyst with focus on PowerBI, your responsibilities will be to:
  • Act as a bridge between business and IT, responsible for requirement analysis and solution definition of dashboarding and reporting solutions using mostly PowerBi
  • Develop production-level reports and dashboards incl. customer-facing dashboards
  • Work hands-on with business to test, validate and maintain/improve deliverables over time
  • Define and improve the data governance, documentation and data catalog jointly with the Advanced Analytics team
  • Share best practices and act as an evangelist to promote a data culture within the company

Do you have what it takes?
Ideally you have a relevant background in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Intelligence or similar. In addition, you have the following experience:
  • 2+ years experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics or equivalent
  • Proficient in PowerBi ecosystem (knowledge of DAX is preferred and certified in PL-300 will be a plus)
  • Understand databases, how to connect and query them
  • Understand Data Warehouse terminology, Star schemas, able to articulate and validate data modelling best practices
  • Able to connect with business users to help translate business user stories into functional design
  • Highly motivated, self-starter able to work autonomously, prioritize and drive real change in an organisation
  • Kind and collaborative, with good interpersonal and communication skills and able to lead projects creatively and independently
  • Willing to grow, eager to learn new technologies and skills, share ideas and help colleagues do the same
  • Fluent and clear in English both oral and written, French nice to have
