The role of Senior Data Analyst sits within the Coronial Services Practice Prevention and Reform (PPR) team in CCQ together with an AO5 Data Analyst role. The role is responsible for maintaining and improving data sources to provide detailed analysis and reporting information that support evidence-based decision making and planning. The role will work closely with both PPR and operational staff within CCQ, to contribute to the effective development of system and operational reforms.
Your key responsibilities
- Identify data sources, design and build datasets individually and in collaboration with others for report development.
- Prepare, collate, analyse, review and disseminate high-quality CCQ related business intelligence information and advice using tools such as SAS, Power BI and Microsoft Excel.
- Develop and contribute to the strategic direction, and vision of the PPR and wider team CCQ team through data derived resources, delivering high quality, responsive and family-centred coronial services.
- Undertake projects to improve data quality.
- Identify trends and insights, and design and develop reports that convey these using appropriate data storytelling and visualisation techniques in Power BI.
- Collaborate and contribute to team discussion and knowledge sharing.
- Negotiate, develop and maintain positive working relationships and networks to facilitate information sharing, access to data, and the appropriate use and interpretation of CCQ data.
- Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of CCQ processes, systems, and relevant legislation, and use this expertise to provide reporting solutions and advice.
- Ensure data outputs satisfy departmental standards for integrity, accuracy and timeliness based on quality principles, procedures, policies and methodologies.
- Support in the identification and consideration of data-related policies, operational practice, risk and challenges for CCQ specific data within the broader coronial system.

This may include reading, hearing, or seeing accounts, photos, videos and other material related to traumatic events. The material may be unexpected, confronting, explicit, distressing, and/or offensive.
