Job description
As a Senior Data Engineer at Planon, you are responsible for the design and maintenance of the Data infrastructure. You do not shy away from architectural decision making and help in setting directions for our (BI) Data solutions as part of, or on top of the Planon applications.
Tasks for and responsibilities of the role of a Senior Data Engineer are:
- Interaction with BI Consultants and Solutions Professionals on requirements for the Planon Data architecture and BI products/solutions;
- Conceptual and technical design of Planon’s Data architecture covering customer requirements, accessibility, maintainability, performance, deployability, cost optimization, etc;
- Steering and contributing to the development of the Data architecture in relation to various Planon applications and sources;
- Creating standard (cloud) accessibility and API connections to the Planon data lake;
- Enhancing the Data architecture to cover both standard BI products as well as customer-specific BI output;
- Collaborating with Scrum team members on the design, development, deployment and maintenance of our combined software and BI solutions;
- Contribute to the further professionalization of our solutions.

You are someone with:
- A completed technical higher education in the field of ICT, Data Science or similar;
- Multiple years of experience with Microsoft SQL-Server, T-SQL, Microsoft Reporting Services, Microsoft Analysis Services and Microsoft PowerBI are a pre;
- Experience with cloud data services (preferably in Azure);
- Preferably knowledge of Azure DevOps and Git;
- Experience with and affinity with data modelling;
- A feeling for clean architecture and designs;
- Interest in new techniques. You like to stay informed;
- A positive view on quality assurance and continuous integration;
- Analytical insight and problem solving ability;
- Good communication skills, customer focus and accuracy;
- Good English language skills.
