Position Summary

We seek a Senior AI Product Manager to work closely with our Director of Applied AI to define and execute our strategy to deliver cutting-edge AI and data enabled solutions to support the firm’s strategic goals. The person in this role will report to the Director of Applied AI and collaborate closely with colleagues within our Innovation organization as well as legal professionals, data scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders across the firm to deeply understand user needs, define product requirements, and oversee the full product lifecycle.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Together with the Director of Applied AI, define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI offerings aligned with the firm’s strategy
  • Gather and prioritize AI product requirements from our attorneys and professional staff, clients, and other stakeholders through interviews, workshops, and data analysis
  • Coordinate with third party solution provides and others Innovation team members to translate requirements into technically feasible and user-friendly solutions
  • Manage the full product development lifecycle, including scoping, prioritizing features, coordinating resources, and overseeing quality assurance
  • Develop internal deployment strategies, messaging, and positioning for AI offering launches
  • Track product performance, gather user feedback, and iterate based on insights to continuously improve offerings
  • Collaborate with change management, learning and development, information technology, information technology development, and business development teams to drive awareness, adoption, and value realization of AI solutions throughout the firm
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in generative AI, legal tech trends, and evolving regulatory landscapes

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or Law; advanced degree preferred

Experience

7+ years in product management with meaningful AI/ML experience in a professional services environment, preferably in legal tech

Proven track record of delivering successful products from concept to launch in a business to business enterprise environment

Skills

  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex AI/ML concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking abilities
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Understanding of legal processes, regulations, and ethical considerations related to AI adoption
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and provide assistance to others as required
  • Passion for driving innovation and leveraging cutting-edge technologies to solve complex challenges
  • Ability to thirve in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Other

New York Pay Range: $180,000 - 220,000K. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of Reed Smith’s pay range for this position. Actual pay may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities: TBD

Equipment To Be Used: Personal computer and other office equipment such as telephone, calculator, fax, machine, copier, scanner, etc.

Essential Job Functions

  • Must be able to travel for meetings and training as required.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and diverse work problems on a daily basis and complete assignments within set timelines

  • Ability to read and interpret written documents, computer screens and other visual displays accurately
  • Ability to hear and understand verbal communication, including conversations and instructions, is important for effective collaboration and communication
  • Must have flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes, unexpected challenges, and evolving priorities

Working Conditions: You will be required to work in the office at minimum 3 days per week. Occasionally called upon to work hours in excess of your normal daily schedule. The details of your weekly schedule will be discussed further with your direct supervisor.
