Job Overview
About The Role
Are you looking to tackle Data Engineering differently, in a space where your new ideas are raised, tried and tested?
Working with an expanding group of like-minded bright sparks, it will be your mission to turn data into a strategic asset and create a data-driven culture.
We’re busy building an ecosystem to share data, to work within our foundational data sets to provide mission-critical outcomes. We’ll be using innovative approaches like data mesh architecture, embedding advanced analytics and machine learning practices.
No stone will be left unturned - want to come along for the journey?
Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing
Partnering with our product teams, building their pipelines so they can be used across AO, you’ll break the status-quo and take ownership in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, automated data pipelines and the data hub (inclusive of the data lake and the data warehouse.)
Putting your best foot forward as an AWS pro, you’ll contribute to data engineering best practice and sharing across the organisation, whilst ensuring a consistent approach to a wide variety of business problems.
A Few Things About You
- You can easily take on board complex business requirements and provide solutions across a full-scale data capability.
- Experience working with Apache Kafka and cloud-based services (AWS S3, Redshift, Glue) and containers
- Ability to design, implement and deliver maintainable high-quality code with Python/Java
- Experience with cloud native technologies, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and agile delivery
- Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or the like, ensuring automated, repeatable and secure deployment processes are in place
- Be able to optimize data workflows for reliability, performance and cost efficiency
- Follow best practices for data governance, security and compliance
