Role And Responsibilities

Position Summary:

The Data Engineer – FLO Solutions will be directly responsible for developing, integrating, and maintaining all data pipelines and data consumption streams in OTG data platforms, and will be accountable for the on-time, on-budget delivery of software to support the OTG product roadmap. We focus on utilizing our data to provide business value. This is an exciting opportunity because of the wealth of data available and the countless ways in which it can be applied. The role will own data science projects, such as a recommendation engine, from end to end.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the in-house development of ETL/ELT data pipelines and data science projects.
  • Create and own data products, such as a recommendation engine or predictive model.
  • Provide key insights and analyses to senior stakeholders and executives.
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to design and develop data models.
  • Collaborate with business users and decision-makers on their data needs.
  • Manages external software development partners to ensure consistent coding standards and in-house body of knowledge.

Qualifications And Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in building AWS big data pipelines using Apache Spark.
  • Strong hands-on experience with programming in Python.
  • Expertise in SQL and analytical data modeling.
  • Hands-on experience in pipeline orchestration tools, like Apache Airflow.
  • Experience in PostgreSQL, Redshift, S3, AWS Lambda, Kinesis and Athena.
  • Previous examples of working with “real-world” data and building data products and/or analyses.
  • Previous work with cloud-based BI tools (such as Looker, and Quicksight) is a plus.
  • Experience with containerization, docker, and Kubernete is nice-to-have.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communications skills (must be able to do basic technical writing)
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment and exhibit grace under pressure.
  • Ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines within the organization.
  • Desired Education: Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering or related experience

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000 per year
