Senior Data Analyst, Square Financial Services

Square Financial Services (SFS) aka The Bank is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to join our SFS Strategy & Operations team. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for influencing the team's operational strategy by providing data insights surrounding our sub-Operational teams workflows. You will also be leading the charge in making Operational data accessible to the leadership team within SFS, Square’s newly-formed Bank. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will often immerse yourself with Operations team leads, product managers, engineers and data scientists to influence business decisions.

This position can sit in any US Block office or be full-time remote from any US State with the exception of Alaska.

You will:

• Provide comprehensive daily analytics support to Operational teams, develop resources to empower data access and self-service so your expertise can be used where it is most impactful

• Lead strategic analytical projects that provide relevant insights or promote operational change

• Evaluate data of established procedures to provide workflow recommendations and communicate operational efficiencies

• Perform ad-hoc analyses of our performance trends to inform executive decisions and provide reporting in Looker

• Use data to drive analysis and actionable insights that drive the SFS Operations department

• Communicate analysis and decisions to partners and executives in verbal, visual, and written media

• Participate in ongoing training to maintain current knowledge of BSA/AML and perform BSA/AML duties as required by job function.

You Have:

• 5+ years of data analysis/business intelligence experience

• BA/BS (statistics, business, data management, or related field preferred)

• Ability to analyze large, complex data sets

• Fluency with data, analytics and visualization technologies (e.g. SQL, Looker/Tableau, Python)

• Develop, deploy, maintain, and optimize data models, pipelines, ETL jobs and visualizations

• A risk-focused, innovative and investigative mindset

• Prior fintech or lending experience is a plus
