Job Title: Data Scientist

Salary: £38,832 - £45,000 (Depending on Experience)

Location : Peterborough

The Opportunity

As a Data Scientist, working with the Energy and Transportation Procurement Centre of Excellence Dept you will be working with and assisting the Supplier Quality, Cost Engineering and the wider Procurement team. This role delivers critical metrics, processes and technical support to a fast paced, multi-tasking team. You will be creating maintaining, and developing multiple systems to ensure our facilities have the most up to date performance metrics and workflow tools to support the delivery of our critical services to Energy and Transportation Division.

What You Will Do:

  • Directing the data gathering, data mining, creating appropriate data models in Power BI.
  • Create and develop and automate E&T processes using Power Automate/Apps connecting facility and system data.
  • Leading to define requirements and scope of data analyses, presenting and reporting possible business insights to management using data visualization technologies.
  • Conducting research on data model optimization and algorithms to improve effectiveness and accuracy on data analyses.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.

Level Working Knowledge:

  • Programming Languages: Knowledge of basic concepts and capabilities of programming; ability to use tools, techniques and platforms in order to write and modify programming languages.

Level Basic Understanding:

  • Query and Database Access Tools : Knowledge of data management systems; ability to use, support and access facilities for searching, extracting and formatting data for further use.

Level Working Knowledge:

Top Candidates will also demonstrate some of the following:

  • Demonstrated use of and advanced working with Power BI
  • Demonstrated use of Power apps or Automate (Design and development)
  • Demonstrated use of Alteryx
  • Excellent Microsoft office Skills
  • Well-developed inter-personal and communication skills to interact with varied customer groups
