We are looking for a talented Data Engineer to help us build MGM+'s next-generation Data Platform to power all data applications.

Key Job Responsibilities

A Data Engineer at MGM+ is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing MGM+'s datasets, which are used for Analytics, Machine Learning models, and Operational use cases. They will work with internal datasets as well as maintain pipelines with external distribution and syndicated data providers. Additionally, they must build and manage the platform for creating these datasets and improve the core infrastructure for Analytics applications for the U.S. and 34 other countries (and growing). The data infrastructure processes millions of records daily from a variety of internal and external sources. This data informs critical decisions on content promotion, acquisition, and engagement with the series and movies that MGM+ offers to our consumers.

You will collaborate with teams in product, programming, finance, and data science, and have visibility with leaders in domestic and international MGM+.

We source data from different teams with different tech stacks (DynamoDB, DynamoDB Streams, S3, different file formats, Kinesis streams). The candidate will determine the appropriate data model, end-to-end data flow, and design and development of data pipelines.

  • Candidates can work out of offices in New York City or Los Angeles. If candidates do not already live in those cities, MGM will pay to relocate the candidate. Hybrid work schedule-3 days in office, 2 days from home.

Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of data engineering experience
  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS technologies like Redshift, S3, AWS Glue, Lambda, and IAM roles and permissions
  • Experience with non-relational databases / data stores (object storage, document or key-value stores, graph databases, column-family databases)
  • Experience with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc.
  • Experience with distributed systems as it pertains to data storage and computing
  • Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $205,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
