Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Data Analyst to join our team.
Embedded within our Market Fundamental Analyst team our Data Analysts provide support across all our trading businesses, utilize their skills to scrape, cleanse and transform data, build data visualizations, and create automations to streamline manual tasks and improve the sharing of information.
We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, a team player, has a desire to use their technical skills to create innovative solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced trading environment, an effective communicator, with a curiosity around data and the businesses they support, and an appetite for continuous process and personal improvement.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
- Work with business subject-matter-experts to identify opportunities and develop digital/data science solutions with consideration for increasing profitability, increasing speed and efficiency, reducing costs and risk.
- Utilize techniques in data cleansing, mining, methods of predictive analysis, and data visualization, to translate complex data in to easy-to-understand information reports and market intelligence to inform and directly support our trading activities.
- Consideration of Management of Change when deploying any digital solutions e.g. user acceptance testing, provision of training and support during rollout of any digital solution.
- Support and enhance existing analytics and data-driven models.
- Provide ad-hoc support across the London analyst team.
Requirements For The Role
- Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science or Business Analytics.
- Previous experience working within the commodity sector is advantageous.
- Minimum two years’ relevant experience building Power BI reports/dashboards, create applications in PowerApps and create flows in Power Automate.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365 power platform tools, and able to work with Excel Formula Language, VBA, DAX, Power Query, M Language and Power Fx.
- Experience using languages such as SQL, Python to manage & clean data, automate processes, analyze, and visualize results.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate results through easy to understand & user-friendly visuals.
- Ability to extract hidden insights from the large datasets.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to manipulate and make sense of a wide range of data.
- A desire to learn and understand the commodity trading business you will be supporting.
