Job Description
Publicis Canada is seeking a skilled Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our data infrastructure. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data pipelines are efficient, scalable, and reliable.
As a Data Engineer you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes
- Build and optimize data models for use in analytics, reporting, and machine learning projects
- Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure data integrity
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and provide efficient solutions
- Manage and optimize database systems and data warehouses
- Implement and maintain data security and compliance measures
- Evaluate and integrate new data management technologies and tools
- Document data architectures, pipelines, and processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 1 year of professional experience as data engineer or a related role
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala
- Extensive experience with SQL and working with relational databases
- Proficiency in building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Kafka)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g. GCP, Azure) and their data services
- Knowledge of data modeling, data warehousing, and dimensional modeling techniques
- Understanding of data privacy and security best practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker)
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and productionizing ML models
- Experience with stream processing and real-time analytics
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and practices
- DevOps knowledge, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Familiarity with digital marketing data
