Job Summary:
Aptive is seeking a Data Analyst to deliver effective campaign insights, measurement, reporting and optimization across our client portfolio. This individual will to support digital transformation within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This individual will work with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information Technology (OIT), Software Product Management (SPM), Corporate Portfolio, is to provide high quality IT products and services to those responsible for commissioning care and benefits to veterans, families, and their beneficiaries. Corporate Portfolio is comprised of disparate product lines that manage the innerworkings of VA enterprise functions that include Human Capital Management, Financial Management, Acquisition Management, Congressional Affairs, General Counsel, and Supply Chain Services.


Human Capital Management Product Line (HCM) provides IT product support and services to VA Office of Human Resources and Administration Operations, Security, and Preparedness (HRA OSP). HRA OSP is charged with ensuring an employee-centric experience through work, people, places, well-being, organization, and technology. These interconnected attributes facilitate the employee lifecycle from beginning to the end of a career. HCM enables technological solutions that allow VA employees to focus on their jobs providing benefits and health care services to the veterans and their families.

In this role, you will work with Product Leads and/or Project Managers to identify key insights into a business's customers and ways the data can be used to solve problems. This will include support to design and development of new dashboard for all levels of the organization using Government applications and resources (e.g. Microsoft Planner, Power BI, Human Capital Data Warehouse, etc.)

This is a contingent position.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and development support for Power BI deliverables, dashboards, models, apps, etc., Data Analysis Expressions model enhancements, and data set aggregation and analysis.
  • Develop reports and models to help the VA program office, OPM and customer agencies determine current trends, forecast future trends and model future scenarios to recommend improvements.
  • Support the government with development of policies and standards for the management of data according to data management best practices as well as VA and government wide requirements for data management.
  • Support the government data steward(s) in the management and oversight of the organizations data assets according to government established data governance practices.
  • Support the organization, circulation, and versioning for all system data dictionaries in a government approved document repository.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to rapidly prioritize competing requirements.
  • Ability to understand and simplify customer requirements.
  • Ability to communicate end user feedback to technical and design leads.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven knowledge of industry standards.
  • Ability to travel onsite in Washington, DC.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to get up to speed quickly on complex issues; desire to work in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.
  • Capable self-starter with a drive to get all types of work done and high attention to detail.
